Periods of transition can be some of the most trying times in life. Everything is up in the air- you lack security, stability, and often times your sense of self can take a hit as a result. This is prime time for falling into bad habits, unhealthy repetitions, and personal vices. If this is something you find yourself in the throes of (whatever the cause may be), I invite you to join me in what I'm calling my "Summer Slough Off". It's a chance to push aside the things that do not serve you. Sift through your life and determine which tendencies and habits cultivate the person you want to be and do away with those that lead you towards that "lesser" version of yourself.
If something is not leading you to being an ultimately happier, more accomplished, better adjusted individual, then it may be time to abandon it. A relationship, a substance, a state of mind-whatever it may be that is holding you back- put it behind you. Recognize that almost everything is a choice and actively strive for improvement.
Act great. Feel great. Be great.
